Ancient Wonders from A to Z: An Alphabetical Journey Through the Museum

I’m excited to share my latest project from the Children’s Art Workshop, where we embarked on a new adventure: creating a book titled “Ancient Wonders from A to Z: An Alphabetical Journey Through the Museum.” What makes this book truly special is that, instead of adults writing for kids, we let the children write for the children—a first in the ABC books—as far as I know. Throughout this project, we followed our usual practice of focusing on developing the 6 Cs of creativity, collaboration, communication, critical thinking, confidence, and content. However, what struck me the most was the themes the children chose to explore in their writing. They touched on topics such as friendships, sharing, loss, taking risks, change, and hope. These genuine and heartfelt themes were beautifully communicated through the voices of the objects they selected, showcasing their concerns and interests.
On a personal note, while this project may have been of medium size in terms of scale, it felt monumental. The trajectory of my life has shifted, and while I was tempted to take a break from conducting the workshop due to other commitments, I couldn’t bear the thought of losing momentum. I firmly believe that like any exercise, if you take a break from thinking, your abilities start to diminish. I didn’t want to risk losing the magic and challenge the workshop provides by pausing for too long… Now, as I stand at the end of this journey, I am filled with gratitude for pushing myself to continue. Seeing the children’s wonderful outcome and the growth they’ve experienced along the way has made every effort worthwhile.
Last but not least a big thank you to my guiding star Dr. Susan Day for everything
